Giving Tuesday

By Taylor Mundy

Most people know about Black Friday and Cyber Monday… but have you heard about Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is a movement that celebrates giving back and takes place each year after the hype of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  Millions of Canadians donate or volunteer for charities they care about to launch the beginning of the giving season.

The Nova Scotia SPCA is proudly a part of the Giving Tuesday community group: Nova Scotia Gives More.  The slogan is “a rising tide lifts all boats” and is where the giving community comes together to rally for funds and awareness for their favourite causes.

Here at the Nova Scotia SPCA, we do not receive any government funding for our animal shelters.  With the cold weather approaching, our hands are full caring for abandoned, stray, injured, neglected and abused pets.

Every shelter pet has their own story.  Some are heart breaking… some are captivating… and some are inspiring.  No matter what their story is, they all deserve a happily-furever-after.  Animal lovers, like you, help make that happen!

This year, for Giving Tuesday, we will be launching something you won’t want to miss.

We’re going to keep you on the tip of your paws right now, but we did leave a little hint here!  Make sure to keep your eyes peeled on our social media channels and join us in celebrating Giving Tuesday and donating on December 3rd, 2019.
