We are often asked what is the better way to give – donating time or money? SPCA Champion, Tara Potter, thinks both!
Twice a week, Tara kindly donates her time at our shelter as an adoption counsellor. When she started volunteering back in 2013, Tara recalls getting hooked on the contagious positivity and excitement in the shelter. “I felt like I was surrounded by my people. Volunteering is good for my soul,” says Tara.
Tara has been able to see first-hand the power of monthly donations and signed up for our SPCA PAW Program three years ago. PAW, which stands for pre-authorized withdrawal, is a super easy and effective way to donate monthly. Monthly donations allow the Nova Scotia SPCA to plan ahead and invest in better long-term solutions to help pets in need.
“To me, it was a no brainer!” says Tara, explaining why she signed up to be a loyal, monthly donor. “Every animal that comes through the SPCA has a story. Some are heart-breaking, some are captivating, and some are inspiring. They cannot be helped without donations!” Monthly gifts provide the means to tackle medical and cruelty cases to ensure every animal is safe, happy and healthy.
Tara is truly inspiring and helping save lives. You can too! Support the SPCA this holiday season and turn stories of heartbreak into stories of hope. Donate and sign up to volunteer today!
